The Lunch Kit
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Arnold's lunch kit on November 4th, 2005.
The lunch kit came to life 39 years ago, when Arnold, in his early 20's, accepted a job as a Partsman. The lunch kit was first lovingly, and then grudgingly, packed by his wife, Cathy. In the 70's and 80's small bits of leftover lunch and luke-warm coffee were consumed by his children. In the late 90's the lunch kit was used to transport items such as Tim-Bits home, in order to bribe his grandchildren to walk.
Over the years, there were many changes. As the company changed it's name, the lunch kit also evolved. It received 6 coats of paint, was decorated with banana and other fruit stickers, as well as having twist ties and odd pieces of metal used to hold it together. You grew to adapt to a new lunch room, and new lunch buddies.
But you were as faithful to your job as Arnold was to his.
We will surely miss you, dear lunch kit, as you rest in peace on top of the kitchen cupboards for all eternity. Or until we auction you off on e-Bay.
